Engine noise and window

Hi! just bought a 87 firebird in january and use it as my daily driver. It is the 2.8 l v6 model.

i do have one strange thing i notice in idle. when it sits there is a thunk and a click, waits 5 seconds and then anotherclick which is accompanied by a increase in rpm speed and then it goes back to normal for another 5 seconds and repeats.

seems to drive ok (i've put 2500 miles on it already) but i'd like to fix it before it becomes an issue.

second , i saw excellent info on fixing a widow motor for a newer firebird. Will this work for my older firebird? Were the windows always slow to go up or down on these models? my passenger window rolls down so slowly.

hope to get it all noce and purdy so any help is appreciated!

Make sure the AC is off, does it still make the noise? It might be the compressor cutting in and out.

Try greasing the window regulator, that does help a little. I do remember the windows on the 3rd gens were a bit slow anyway, its a heavy piece of glass and the window motor doesn't seem all that strong as they tend to quit working after a while.
