I've been to the dealer for the heater control knobs, I was told that they don't make them any longer. My local auto parts store has some in the Help (Motormite) aisle, but not for the Mercury. The Motormite site does not list them. Salvage yards have not been able to help. Does anyone have a source for them?
Thanks, Bob

Go to www.car-part.com and do a search for a "Heater/AC Control" for the dash. You should be able to pick up a used asm for a reasonable price. Other than that, get the part number/s from the Ford parts guy and maybe we can do a search on the internet for some NOS(New Old Stock) knobs. These are new-discontinued parts that private dealers pickup from Ford.

Thanks for the Car-Part link, but I found something that worked. I was in my local Autobarn in the Help (Motormite) section. I brought in the broken part so I could possibly match it up.
Among the knob assortments was #76901, which had 3 knobs in it. One was almost an exact match, I believe it was made for a newer Contour or Sable.
It fit the Merc exactly as it should and ran me $9, so I'm happy, the wife is happy.
