Be a little more specific......... Do some looking around while you have the engine running and try and find where the smell is coming from
I didnt know they made a 283 for a 95 blazer

you got CPI? have you replaced it and nut kit?
also, do you 'top off' the tank when you fill up?

id bet money that ur cpi and/or nut kit is bad. can u tell wher the smell is coming from? mine had a strong gas smell in the intake and coming from the tail pipe. take off the IMTV, look for leaks and take a wif. if u can see clean areas or if there is a strong smell of gas in the monifold, the fuel regulator or nut kit is probably bad.

correction 4.3 liter.
it's hard to locate the soarce of smell,i can smell it at the rear of the truck and under the hood. this is my wifes car, but i drove it today , and the idle seems a little fast but it does drop back to normal sometimes. i don't know about milage as i don't drive it but maybe 3 times a year and she doesn't keep up w/ that sort of thing.

the longer u drive like that, the more damage is being done. tell her to start keep track of the mpg (miles gone on tank/gallons put in). if it winds up getting about 10mpg, strongly consider a cpi/nut kit replacement, which is like $300 in parts so i would suggest removing the upper manifold (takes all of 10min) to visually inspect the parts. if u see any clean areas, u probably have a leak. turn the key on to pressurize the system and u should be able to spot any leaks. hope this helps u.
