first off hey! well i just sold my 97' turbo nissan 240sx just cuz there was some problems with it and someone offered me a good deal. anywayz, i want to pick up a 93' or 94' del sol (cuz their cheap & i like the body style) and do a swap. first off, i want this car to drive well and have as little engine problems possible. maintenance wise, would a b18c1 turbo be better than a b18c5? in the long run, which engine would be better to swap? i wanna make between 200-300 hp with whatever engine i get, im not looking for crazy huge hp numbers u know, just something quick. i wanna know which one would be the most reliable setup. if someone could help me out and and give suggestions that would be great thanks.

b18c1 with turbo... or you could go ls turbo... better reliability with the b18c1 and turbo

ha, sorry, ment ls/vtec, not turbo... the ls turbo would be better than the b18c cause it has lower compression than the b18c... and i thought that ls/vtec was hard because i've heard that the heads dont match up perfectly, and theres some machining involved.... correct me if im wrong, going off memory, not actual facts...sry

in my opinion, the extra 20hp from the b18c5, isnt worth the $1500 extra... b18c, or if you got the money, do what im going to do... a h22 with the b series tranny adaptor, you'll have 200hp, 160tq, and with the b series tranny which is better than the h trannys... http://www.quartersportsdrag.com/H2B.html

i think a ls turbo at 300 hp will be less reliable than a b16 or b18c turbo at 300. i say this because 300 is about the limit for a stock ls while the other have been proven to be able to go to about 350. i would just get a delsol vtec and turbo

I would go B18C1 turbo, but make sure you build the motor first. It's worth the time and money in the end
