Brake causes engine to stall

I just replaced the heads on a 93 ford taurus. After petting engine back in car, and connecting everything the car runs. starts up fine but when I press down on brake pedal, engine stutters, sometimes dies. Checked vacuum lines from and it looks ok. Also, I have a water/steam leak INSIDE of the cabin. accomponied by a hissing sound. steam coming from firewall in engine compartment around where lines go in to heater core. could someone give me a diagram of the hose routing on the engine? also a diagram of the vacuum from brake to engine? I would GREATLY appreciate it

Does sound like a heater core.

Don't know what to tell you on the hose routing. Are you looking for the correct routing for the heater hoses? Typically the inlet and outlet are different diameters so it's difficult to mix them up.

As for the vacuum diagram, I've posted one at http://www.members.aol.com/Rod2414738/Car_Stuff/vacuum.pdf. I made the assumption that you have the 3.8L since you didn't mention the engine size. I'm not sure why it shows up as a negative image, but the information is still there.

Yes it is a 3.8. As for the hose routing, yeah that was what I was looking for, however, there is a hose that comes from the pump and crosses over the intake manifold where does this connect? to the top of the thermostat housing or to that sensor thingy that is just forward of the thermostat? I'm worried I may have gotten something mixed up and blew up my heater core. whiich btw IS blown up. as for the brake problem, well I checked the booster and check valve, both are fine, is there possibly a sensor or something that I missed?
