I have a 1996 Cavy with about 138,000 miles on it. As of lately everytime I make a left turn right before I straighten out my car for some reason revs high with little accleeration and once i straighten the wheel out it bucks and then accelerates normally like nothing is wrong. Been subtle for awhile and lately been getting worse here and there. Even if I put the car in reverse it hestiates and bucks before allowing me to go backwards sometimes. It has even stall twice within the last week but not while making a left turn. Took the car to a buddy of mine who is a mechanic and I let him drive my car to which he felt my car was driving fine. Of course I ask him to make a left turn at slow speeds and thats when it did it on him and he told me it changed gears. So I ask him is that something to worry about and he said thats just part of the wear on a car with 138,000 miles on it. I called my brother to which he replied that it maybe my diffrential connected to my transmission I forget the rest he said but I was wondering if this problem sounds familar to anybody out there.

My car is a mess i guess. Awhile ago i was told that I have a leaking head gasket and to junk my car. Took it to my buddys mechanic and he did a carbon test and told me that its not. However my oil light still pops on and off even with enough oil in it. So I check my oil for water as well as my antifreeze for oil mixing and always seem fine but just wondering if maybe my problems are symptons from my leaking head gasket???

Wow that's an old thread, good luck on a response. to me it sounds like a bad CV joint. does it make a clunking/banging noise on that side? jack it up and turn the direction it has the prob then grab the cv joint/shaft and wiggle it to check for play. I may be way off but it's a start!
