There've been many posts about this type of problem. Do a little searching to see if anyone had the same problem.
In my case, after replacing the "spider" and "nut kit" on a 93 model, it would not start without ether because I had a WEAK fuel pump. It would supply the required pressure statically, but could not maintain the pressure dynamically when trying to start. Pressure would drop from 60 psi (pre start) to around 45 psi during cranking. If you don't have a fuel pressure guage, either buy one ($35) or borrow one and monitor the pressure while cranking.
Replacing the fuel pump is a big PITA if you do it yourself. Otherwise, it just costs a lot if you have it done. Doing it myself was the "job from hell" because I'm 69 years old but I'm still learning when to DIY or let someone else do it.

You did not say what year or engine but here is some canned guide lines .
Hard to start cold.
Check cold start fuel pressure.
Check engine running fuel pressure.
Check engine running on the road fuel pressure.
Then shut it off and watch for fast leak down.
Pinch off at rubber part or block off return line and check full pressure.
Later V6 and V8 gm engines should have 60-66 fuel pressure.
Cold start should be 64-65 lbs of pressure.
If you do not have full fuel pressure on a cold start the injectors will not squirt fuel.
Do not leave home without it.
Engine running should be 60-66 lbs pressure depending on engine load.
Full pressure with return pinched off should be 75-85 or more.
And if it has a fast leak down after shut off you have a leak.
Post back fuel pressure readings.

What year?
Different years have diifferent fuel pressure specs.
