:naughty:
With spring almost here and the northern hemisphere beginning to thaw, GIONC, KLUTZ_100 and I have decided to enjoy the weather with a topless frolic. Since we know how much you all like to watch, we're going to post pics here for your viewing enjoyment!
We're each building a convertable Ferrari- perfect for cruising the beach. Gionc is doing Hasegawa's lovely 348, Klutz_100 is tackling Fujimi's Enthusiast 365, and I'm building Tamiya's 360. We'll post pics of each subassembly here. Be sure also to check out our individual build threads, coming soon!
And now, for the hearts and souls of these beautiful girls, the engines-

Lots more to come (off). Enjoy!

Topless in scale? ;)
http://img118.imageshack.us/img118/1395/brab3to.jpg
I don’t know about me going topless with this, but being in a joint build thread with gionc and MPWR, I definitely feel bare-assed
Actually it’s really great to be able to share my work in the company of these 2 great modelers and nice guys - it is certainly motivating me to try hard!
I’ll save most of my blah blah for the dedicated 365GTS/4 thread but I’d just like to give a few words of introduction here.
The kit I am building is the Fujimi Enthusiast Series 365GTS/4. The Daytona - in both its cabriolet and closed body guises - is up there with the Dino and 250s as one of my all-time favorite Ferraris.
I’m not really into counting nuts and bolts, but overall the kit seems to be very well mastered with a lot of attention to detail. This is particularly evident in the engine which is comprised of over 36 pieces not including the exhaust and cooling system!!
I will admit that when I first started this project, my original intention - with Gionc and MPWR having lathes - was to go for an OOB build. However, I’m in a more flexible frame of mind nowadays and I might decide to add some PE stuff and maybe some simple scratch built items. When all is said and done, I’ll just be happy if I don’t embarrass the other guys (or myself) ;)
Anyway, the thread marshal has called “Gentlemen, start your engines!!” – so I have!
Here’s a little “Topless Striptease” …
http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/1705/teaser014tq.jpg
http://img65.imageshack.us/img65/1064/teaser039cy.jpg
http://img65.imageshack.us/img65/6638/teaser028ph.jpg
Cylinder block was painted in Alclad 2, valve covers detailed with BMF scripts, scratch built accurate distributor caps (RTV mold made for future use) and fuel rails added.
You can find more detailed 365 GTS/4 verbiage here (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=3908225#post3908225)
Thanks for joining in with our bit of fun – we hope you enjoy it!!!

348 ts engine
I'm really happy to join this fun trio: it's the Hasegawa 348 ts, great model with details and some fine PE parts.
I'm testing mill&lathe, so I decided to do injectors, pullejes, oil filter, muffler end and some other stuff, you'll find some update steps, tips and finishing materials in the 348 WIP thread soon ..

As Tonio would say, "its pure secks"...and its the closest we'll have to that and a threesome on AF.
Im anxious to see more.

We've all been working feverishly the last two months, and actually (finally) have something to show for our work.
So, here are the topless cockpits!

Whoa! Looks like we’re already 2 months down the road on this one and finally an update
We’ve been calling this one our “interior” update, so I’m just wondering if our next update will be to show you guys our exteriors or our posteriors? ;)
Anyways, below you can see a couple of teaser shots of what’s been going on in there.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y247/klutz100/WIPs/Daytona%20Spider/dash-teaser_01.jpg
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y247/klutz100/WIPs/Daytona%20Spider/shifter-gate-teaser_01.jpg

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y247/klutz100/WIPs/Daytona%20Spider/mats-teaser_01.jpg
Basically I’ve used the Acustion PE set, done some re-modeling on the seats and door panels for a little added accuracy, added “working” door locks ;) and made some floor mats.
Take a closer look here (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=3908225#post3908225), let us know what you think and thanks for visiting and stay tuned - Gio will probably turn is into the three Musketeers next  How many Marx brothers were there?......
Thanks for cheering us along!
