Valvoline over 75K oil. Does it pay to use this slightly more expensive oil? Or am I wasting my money?

Mobil 1 true synthetic will clean your engine nicely. Highly recommended. Cleans the varnish ...
Use a filter that is not Fram.

Have two S10s now with over 200K miles, no engine repairs on either (knock on wood) using Havoline 10w30 oil since the first oil change. I don't see the need for this higher priced oil unless you're having problems with leakage or noise. I have used this max life ATF in a couple old auto trannys that were slow to pick up on cold mornings, and it did make an improvement, but I figure that's an extended change interval so the extra cost is sure worth it.

I use the High Mileage Castrol GTX, and I like it. I have 120K on my truck, and I think that the oil wears better, I have less blow by and overall it has helped me out. I hae been using it since about 80k or so, and I do see improvements over what I was getting from regular Castrol.
Just my 2 cents.
