How much did you guys pay? I've got four new tires 215/40/17, need them mounted on stock rims. Les Schwab said $129!! And Firestone said $80. I found one guy's post that said he paid $9 ea. And when my brother went into Les Schwab they charged him $30 total, and he has the EXACT same tires as me. What's the deal?

Are those prices total or each? Why are they giving me such high prices?

I dont think Wal Mart can mount 17's. The one here cant anyway. I think I payed $7 per wheel to mount and balance my 17's. $130 is just fuckin rediculous, punch that guy in the balls.

go to a no-name tire shop (preferably one owned by immigrants)

not only are they cheaper, but they're usually better at balancing aftermarket rims.

I just bought new tires for the winter beater and it was like $15/tire to mount and balance. They were 215/60/16.

Well I took it to Big O Tires and it was $69.63. So about $17.50 each. It took a freekin hour! I was sooo bored. And I've got about 3.5 inches of wheel gap now. :( Need some suspension. All in all, it was about $500 to get new tires. I got Yokohama Parada Spec-2's that were ~$430 from TireRack with no Road Hazard Warranty for a new tire if one gets damaged.

Oh, also when my speedo says I'm going 60 I'm acutally going 56. :icon16:
