I was at the shop the other day, working on my block. I noticed my buddy working on a car I've never seen, so I ask if he needs help. Yeah, he needs help pulling the engine so it can get freshened up. I saw the Big Brodie heads and had to ask how much power, and what were the times? The big block chevy is making 1100hp on just the motor, and has a 500 shot of NO2 WTF. The other reason it was in the shop is to add more NO2!!!!! Another 500 shot!!!!! This was the first time I ever turned wrenches on a car with that much power, and it was pretty cool. My buddy says the guy has about 100k tied up in this car, so I was checking it out; halon fire extingushing system, progressive NOS controller, digital ignition, dual parachutes etc etc. Suddenly it hit me, I was looking at a friggin Pinto!!!!! A 2100 hp methanol burning Pinto!!! A pinto that runs 4s in the 1/8th mile while blistering the Goodyear slicks the whole way. Pretty wild huh? Just thought I would share.

That guy must have a death wish.
But, that is pretty insane.

It's not that it's not NHRA legal ( full cage, blah, blah, blah), but 100k in a pinto? That's the part I couldn't get over.

Yeah, I will try to get back over there tommorrow and take some pics. I didn't have my camera on me. :banghead:
Edit: there are full on race cars over there all the time, so I don't usually think about bringing a cam. I will take some pics though if you guys are interested. There is a thunderbird that stays over there with a 803 hp small block Ford, and a Mustang II (:puke:) with a big ford. The bird runs 5.50s in the 1/8th, and the Mustang runs 6.40s. It's just kind of off topic for this forum, but I couldn't help mentioning the Pinto.

Ok I got some pics today, but they aren't great. I will get more after the car comes out of the trailer, and the motor goes back in.
Pinto first.

^Nah, just waiting on UPS for a part. The engine is mounted with a mid-plate. Takes all of 20 min. to put back in. The block was just getting freshened, and the other stage of NO2 installed.
