there are lots of ups and downs for every engine. the H22 prelude engine is probably the most realistic fastest motor you can put in a civic. but the weight of it with stock suspension kills the handling. on the other hand, the B18C5 type R engine will not be as fast as the h22, but handling and quickness is great. there are lots of engines to choose from. pick your budget and destination and you will find out whats the best engine for YOU.:)

Okay now would you like to go NA or Forced Induction on your engine choice? Is it going to be a street racer or drag or autocross type of car?

any B-series motor should do it except the B16 and the B18B. a B20Z has all your torque need, and the B18C1 has all your high-revving needs., and the B18C5 has the all motor power curve once you mod it up.:)

If you are looking btw the 5-7 go for the h22 but with that, modify your suspension ie. full suspension, amd within a couple of yrs new axles.. but most def go for the h22, badass motor. besides, do you need to turn fast on a straight shot?

its not a bad choice you made... it should be zippy quick. i was talking about if you put a B16 in a 96-00 civic, cuz then you'll be running around the same times that the 99-00 civic si's are running..which isn't that fast anyways..
since you have a light weighted hatchback, it should be very fun. :)

correct-o mundo my friend......b16's in 92-95 hatches are pretty quick in stock trim......if you modify it, it'll be able to keep up w/ some pretty good cars
