Yay! I got hired today as a dishwasher in a local cafe. I've been job hunting for three months now and this one finally came through. Not exactly a glamorous job but its money. Since its a small place I'll more than likely bus tables and wash dishes...so thats dish washer's pay plus tips..not bad I guess.

tips go to the wiaters, not the bus boys.

if they steal it from the waiters

at my restaurant, each server has to tip out the bussers a certain percentage of their total sales

I'm making $8 an hour. The reason it took me do fing to find a job was because there's not really a demand for minors in the workforce until spring/summer when the tourists are here. The job itslef kicks ass. While I do wash more dishes than I've ever seen, I get to munch on seafood and gator tail all day. I prolly wouldn't have got hired but my dad knows the owner. Anyhow, If any of you are ever in Port St Joe, come by and see me. Later

At the resturant i work at the bussers dont make tips. Only waitstaff, hosts, and delivery drivers.

The hosts get like 10% of what each waitstaff member makes that night.

When you turn 18..or 21 where ever the hell you live and the laws, become a bartender I made 21 an hour pouring beers and picking up glasses.

I know what its like job hunting man, I spent more than 3 months finding a BETTER job. Start when you can, you'll grow to hate it within a few weeks.

Congrats man. It doesn't matter what you do, you're working and not being a leech on society. Kudos my friend.

End of day two: I've made $120 plus tips. Not bad for a 16 year old kid I guess. I'm saving for my eventual move to Thailand lol

And thanks for the support everyone...even though I already hate it. I guess it wouldnt be work if I enjoyed it.
