1996 Rover 414Si idles erratically

Any ideas anyone, what can be causing this problem? I have changed the plugs, air filter and fuel filter. The problem is only apparant when the car is static, say at traffic lights. The local Rover dealer cannot find anything either, but it may be a leaky gasket. :banghead:
