As you know I bought that 1990 Talon TSI. Long story short I bought the car off of a guy named Wayne without title. Called origional owner and was promised the title so I went to pick up the car. Got the car home and origional owner call me and said she wasn't going to sign the title to me because Wayne never paid her for the car. Spoke to Wayne and he is refunding my money tomorrow $200 and wants no trouble. So I called the origional owner and she said I could come give her the $200 cash and she would give me the title. Well after looking through the car i noticed its really not worth it to redo the car. Way too much work for me to do. The underbody is all rusted out. The compressoin is 155-155-160-155 and the turbo has no shaft play.:smokin::smokin:
So basically I have never paid her for the car and I don't want it but it's in my possession. Couldn't I just take the car back to her and drop it off in her driveway and leave? I want nothing to do with it. Its too far gone and has a no spark condition. Can she take me to court? There was a verbal agreement but no money exhcanged yet. So can't i just leave her the car and walk?:shakehead:shakehead:shakehead Why do I do this to myself...:screwy::uhoh::banghead::banghead:

Oh man... I donno about that one... If the title is still in her name then I don't see any way she could take you to court over it. So what if you wanna back out of buying it now, tt happens all across the world everyday. She'll just have to deal with it. lol

$200 for a TSI AWD with 155, 155, 160 and 155 for compression?!? 6 bolts stock were only 162 IIRC, that engine is in very VERY good condition. Who gives a damn if the underbody is rusted, I seriously doubt you will ever find a DSM from any year without rust underneath. I dont know man, I would force Wayne to pay her. Why did she give him the car without money? Sounds to me like its her fault, not yours and no, just dropping the car off in her driveway shouldnt be a big deal. Shes the one not willing to sign the title over so it is her car and it should be in her driveway. I dont know man, I would fight this to the bitter end, I think you have one hell of a project car. If nothing else you could part it out and make a good deal of $$$. Hell, you could sell the turbo for ~$200 and the rest is pure profit.

Wait, the motor has awesome compression, and the turbo has no shaft play? The standard for the engine is 164psi and the "service limit" is 121. It's a healthy motor and according to you still has a turbo with no shaft play. Why not just buy it for the engine and use it in a different body? Or just part it out?

EDIT: I guess it's too late. I thought noon tomorrow (sunday)

So you ended up getting the title and just turning around and selling it all to someone else instead? lol Nice work.

Should've parted it out on ebay IMO $$$$ way more than you paid for the car. I've seen 14b's go for over $150, then the head IM TB etc. Oh well. Too bad it didn't work out the way you wanted. :sorry:

Yeah, I guess it wouldnt be a good project car if the floorboards went through. Loeman is right though, you could have parted it out for pretty close to a grand or more.
