Who swindles a soldier? This douche up in west virginia owns a dealership and lies(imagine that!).
I bought an 89 350 manual shortbed from him. He painted over the frame so you couldn't see the corrosion, lied about the fact that it had not cats, and told me it just needed some brake fluid to stiffen up the soggy brakes.
In reality- It now has a broken frame due to extensive rust, there were no cats which made it impossible for me to make it pass inspection without spending a rediculous amount of money for two new cats, and the left rear drum had a chunk missing out of it so that whenever you hit the brakes brake fluid would shoot out.
So...I'm suing him. The legal office said he would probably give in when I confronted him, but he wants to bring lawyers into it. The only thing he has going for him is the fact that it took me 15 months to finally get back to him. But that's only because I didn't find out I had any legal grounds until like 6 months ago, and that was right after the whole hurricane thing, and I had just been flown out of misissippi to alabama.
The point is- screw that guy. Who would find against the military?

Also check with the DMV in West Virginia. They will sometimes help when a dealer sells a dangerous car.
My daughter bought a broncofrom a used car dealer, that had cutting on the frame from an amateur install of power steering. This caused a lot of play in the steering when the frame flexed.
Well California DMV made the guy pay to get it fixed properly.
If he didn't fix it or return the money, he was going to lose his license to sell.
It was a consignment sale too, but that didn't matter.

Well soldier it sounds as if you've learned a used car buying lesson, as have most all of us over the years. Good luck to you.

Well, we don't have victims here either. However, not everyone is a volunteer. You're not always given all the information; however it is expected that you will get enough to operate. The point is- I'm going to sue that douche for all I can get out of him. He cost me more than my fair share of time in jail for his shady business practices.
Doom to all who oppose.
Doom to all who oppose.

Why didn't you take the car to a mechanic for inspection? While I can sympathize with you that could have been done prior to sale. All the warning signs were right there in front of you.
You have culpability here and you are in your posts minimizing it. As a vet I learned it doesn't matter who you are and you being one too doesn't give you the right to be ignorant. Hard lesson learned and you probably won't do it again. Good Luck.

The jail thing happened a while after I got it inspected. And it failed, and I tried to remove the rejection sticker, and I got pulled over one day(i was only going like 5 mph in a parking lot) and they impounded the truck, and carted me off to the county jail.
And yes, there are some things I could have done to prevent this from heppening. but considering the dealer was about a two hour drive from my house, and my other car had just been totaled I didn't have a lot of options, and I needed a vehicle sooner than possible. While I probably should have been on the lookout for getting swindled, he shouldn't have gone out of his way to sell me the most illegal truck he could find and lie about every detail.
Call me crazy for thinking that way...

Let's play the blame game and not own up to your own failings. Yes you had other issues but buying some POS and blaming others is stupid. Sorry no sympathy here. :nono: Unless he had a gun to your head then you could have walked away.

And you go to jail because of YOUR actions and still blame the dude who sold you the truck. :screwy:
