Power Steering fluid

Ok, this is a fairly simple question. What kind of power steering fluid do you all buy and use? I've got a 2000 VW Cabrio w/ Manual transmission and etc. I bought the car but it didn't have a manual and it seems that none of the service stores around here have any clue as to what is used. We've even called the VW dealership in Clarksville, TN and an import only service stop, and they just said it was synthetic mineral oil and then gave us some VW part number that was useless to the service people. Unable to reference it. :banghead: I didn't know there was even such a thing as a synthetic mineral oil power steering fluid. I knew there was synthetic or mineral oil but not both. So yet again, we're not sure what to use. Does valvoline or castrol make a synthetic mineral oil that anyone knows of or is there something more specific that must be used?? I haven't found much on valvoline or castrol's website on this kind of mix. These service places didn't even answer my question as to where they bought they're stuff from.

My volvo wasn't this difficult, you could use ATF fluid in the thing. Appreciate any help!
