95 maxima air condition operation

I thing the only way you need to do is to set the temperature level at 50 to 60, then, the air conditioning will be on.

set it on econ and turn the temp as low as it goes (65 i think in the 4th gen's). if you put it on auto the car is continually trying to maintain 65 degrees, if you put it to econ it will just blow cold air without trying to keep a constant temp.

I did this and I still did not get any cold air. I didn't even hear the compressor turn on, so I checked the R-134 w/ my gauge. It is low. I will buy a can and let you guys know what happened.

Seems that the system doesnt work.
- test that compressor is wroking by hot wiring it to +12V [f.]
- check fan relays (3pcs) & compressor relay, clean contacts, replace if necessary [d.]
- check thermo amp closed [b.]
- check dual pressure sw at the liquid tank closed [c.] =enough liquid. When system is functional, coolant bubbling is seen through the sight glass.

The auto A/C -circuit has one temp sensor more than in this pic, ctrl panel different, check the links for more detailed info

Found the AC Hi-Low pressure switch is bad. Need to locate a new one.
