Been A while

Hey people, its been a while since i've had a race to post up since al the ones ive had recently havent been worth it. Well here goes.

I was driving to pick up my g/f from her new job and i was going the speed limit since i was recently pulled over for doing 110 in a 70:evillol: ; when this Acura TSX comes flying by next to me, I dont think much of it cause i know i can beat those and its the RL that i wanna race so i stay on my way. About 3 cars behind the TSX was a old 70's Camero that flew by me and cut me off almost hitting his back end on my front bumper. I slam on my brakes and honk my horn. The guy takes off.

I shift to 2nd all raged out and slam on the gas to catch up to him. I turned off the traction control cause i knew i was going to get wheel hop anyways and I started catching up to him. He had a good 4 cars on me when i started, 3rd gear ccame and it was down to 3, 4th and my bumper was having a reunion with his rear, 5th and i flew past the guy, went in front of him, slammed on the brakes making him do the same aswell and making him kill some life off his tires as they smoked up and made him go into the left turning lane. We got to the red light and i started yelling at the guy, who seemed really pissed off from what i did and since he has to turn left instead of going straight like he was aiming for cause he knew I wasnt letting him cut infront of me again. And to make matters worse I started saying that his V8 got beat by a little 1.8 four cylinder. The light turned green which was a good thing cause the guy looked like he was ready tokill someone, namely me.

That wasn't a race that was road rage and a quick way to kill someone. I understand how you feel. Shit like that happens to me on a daily basis but I just let it slide because you never know if the other person is on drugs, has a gun, or is plain psychotic.

It just isn't worth it.

Yea that's not cool. Even though that guy was being an asshole, brake checking him and nearly causing a wreck is not very smart. And besides it's because of that kind of stuff that makes my insurance cost so damn much. Next time just leave him basting with the fact that he got smoked by an import.

do we have to go back to the insurance stuff again? people like to say "it's because of this my insurance is high." NO, your insurance is high cause of your credit, the type of car, how long youve had your license and how old you are. But besides that, i'm usually calm when driving but when it's someone who does that and doesnt seem to care about it, it pisses me off. The fact that he hauled after he almost hit me shows me he probably would've ran if he did hit me and here in miami we have one of the highest rates of people without insurance, so that guy must not have had any. To me it looks like he took the car from his dad or something for a joyride.

Actually he's correct about the insurance. Had you caused a wreck, they would have taken the statistics that it was a a) teenager, b) import, c) in such and such city.. etc etc.

They use those statistics to determine rates.

I don't think Gotian is a teenager is he? Regardless, he works for an insurance company (oddly enough) so he knows what the consequences are.

BUT! since you are under 25 you would be charged as a teen. you make it worse for everyone and i bet If you would have cause a wreck just because your age/ you would have been charged with aggressive driving, reckless driving and street racing and then.. i dont care it you do your own insurance or not it would sky rocket and you would have points on your licence.

WHAT!?!?! Dude, he's your friend! how can you say that? acting like a dumbass? okay the guy was acting like a dumbass and pissed him off, you piss someone off you better be ready to deal with what the other guy can dish out right, well he was cruising along in that junker, almost hits Gotian and Gotian happens to be no ones bitch so he goes after the moffo and deals a little vigillante action. Actaully I have and much worst. Ive tailled people, thrown shit out my window at people, smoked them and taken pictures and post em everywhere I can, Ive even gotten out of my car on a few occassions and gotten physical. (did I spell that shit right?)
Ive only had a gun pulled on me one time and I had to back the fuck down cause I cant stop bullets. Ive had bats and knifes pulled on me too but you already know what I do when shit like that happens.

And to the rest of you. Maybe its not a traditional street race I'll give it. BUT, he did match up against another car that was putting down some speed and even from 5 cars back managed to out-perform him right? lets at least give him cred for that. Its a dog-fight and he won it regardless of the reason it started.

And on a final note. Gotian is an insurance agent so he knows the biss better then most of us. (in fact he is my wife's insurance agent and soon to be mine too) Dont listen to the bullshit that insurance companies like Geico and Allstate write about. maybe not 100% of the time but at least half the time they are just blowing smoke up our asses.

The insurance companies could not come up with a good reason why to charge a high premium on the Corrola and the Civ so they made up an excuse. YES, THEY MADE IT UP!
they said that both cars had the highest rate of car theft in Florida. Since both cars had been so cheap in the past more and more people where buying these types of cars and insurance companies where loosing out.
Its bullshit that they had a high theft rate cause at the time I was finishing my internship with the U.S. Marshalls dept. and on one trip to downtown I ended up having lunch with the chief of the Auto Theft Recovery Unit in Miami. He was friends with my C.O. and we hung out for a few hours. He told me that those cars are never stollen, no one wants them. They get broken into alot but so do lots of others. He said that year the highest stollen numbers where BMW 5 and 3 series, Maximas, Explorers and Mustangs.
not what the insurance companies where reporting. he explained that since insurance comapnies are privately owned and government cant overview them then they get to run wild and run up rates whenever they feel like it.
wreckless driving, high rate of accidents, teenagers crashing. It dosent affect you individually. Your pesonal driving record affects you and your Credit and whatever else Gotian mentioned. Despite the fact of insurance, it wasn't exactly bright to give the guy the same treatment. Say he would have swerved into the oncoming lane, had there been a car filled with kids and they wrecked, Gotian would have been the cause. Plus, there was another car there which was witness to the whole matter.

If Gotian had been using his head (not saying he doesn't) then he should have taken the liscense plate down, called it in, and talked to the guy in the TSX. I'm sure he was still there at the point Gotian was cut off. So, he was a witness to what happen. Don't try and take matters into your own hand by thinking you can justify the problem by doing it back. That's like two kids starting an arguement, and then saying "Well he started it". Doesn't solve anything. Next time, just let the authorities deal with the matter.

There simply is no reason to cause an accident because some asshole decided to cut you off to initiate some sort of "race". Although, I will give you the credit of catching back up and passing him. Good jorb. Just remember be more considerate of those around you and let the law deal with the assholes on the road. :thumbsup:

See, thats the problem with Florida. If you came at me becuase I did something to piss you off while driving, you wouldn't have the chance to say I pulled a gun on you, because I would have finished the job. Remeber, shoot first, and if they have to ask questions later, then your aim sucks!

You people do realize that rates are different in different states right? I hope most of you do. And as far as the witness go, the TSX was long gone cause we caught the red light and there wasnt anyone else there. If there were others there then i wouldnt have done it. As far as a police report goes, the cops here have a tendancy of not doing shit even if you get the plates, remember drifty when you got hit by the SUV and then YOU slammed on the gas called the cops and followed it long enough to get the plates? What happend? The cops did nothing.

And if the investigated it the wouldve found the tire marks off his car and not mine since they use those to determine how fast he was going, but whatever.

Depends what part of florida, not neccessarily a teenager cause you can be a teenager but if youve had your license since you were 16 then it will be lower then other teenagers. I have a friend who is my age who pays as much as me and he doesnt have full coverage, and im talking about before i get a discount (which isnt too much)

Reading this thread makes my head hurt... and my wallet for each insurance check I write.

but see the thing about guys like you is that your freaking crazy! I fight alot and I have a short fuse which makes it kinda easy for me to find myself in a brawl with someone. but I have never, EVER gotten mad at anyone enough to want to take thier life.
