Relocating and eliminating lots of little things...

Ok, so today I was workin on the Talon some and I got all of the brackets and zip ties cut so I can put everything where I want it in my engine bay. I wanna move the fuse box from its stock location down to that lower part where our SMIC pipe comes up from. It looks so much cleaner with that out of the way and my battery and everything. There's just a few more things I would like to do though while its all apart.
Vaccum lines - I'd like to eliminate all but the completely necessary ones but I'm not sure which ones are really needed. For the ones on the throttle body, I wondered if they could all be connected to each other or plugged. I wasn't sure if they went to any sensors or not. Has anyone else done this before?
BCS - Is this really needed? I have my MBC and was wondering if there was a way to just use that and get rid of the BCS and all the wires going to it.
Charcoal Canister - Is it needed for emission purposes? If not, can I remove it and do some other type of setup there with the lines?
Ground Cable - I know Kevin already talked about this once but I just wanted to be sure this is what I can do with it. I can eliminate the ground cable going from the firewall to the old battery terminal and just run a ground cable from my starter to the firewall or strut tower? Does anything else need to be re-grounded due to me relocating my battery to the hatch?
Starter - Ok, I have the starter out of the car. All I need to do is take it apart, clean it, and put it back together to eliminate that little sqweeking thing it does after I start my car, right? Any suggestions on what to use to clean it?
Clutch Slave Cylinder Lines - I noticed that there are all hard lines running up to a bracket that mounts under the fuse box and then it has a hydraulic line from the hardline to the slave cylinder. This seems to be a mess of lines and such. Can I route some AN lines from the slave cylinder and follow over to the strut tower and then just go around back and up to the master cylinder? I sure would like to unjumble the mess there and am just curious as to if this is possible to do.
Oh yeah, while I'm on the subject of the clutch master cylinder... I took off the resevoir cap to check the level and all the fluid that used to be in there is now like a thick gel type of gunk. I don't know a lot about the master cylinder and such, but I'm guessing the fluid is not supposed to be like that. Any ideas as to what caused it and what I need to do to fix it? This is one of the reasons I brought up running AN line instead because I'm sure the hard lines are filled with that gunk and it won't be fun to try and clean out.
Are there any other additional lines or parts that I can eliminate or move to get more room to work in the engine bay and make it look cleaner? I'm open to all ideas or suggestions, new and old alike. :)

Ok, so I took off some more vaccum lines tonight, tore my starter apart and cleaned it out. But, I didn't see any brushes in there like I was told. All there was were a bunch of magnets and some heavy center piece that had these plates all over it? Anyways, I cleaned it up and what not and put it back together and reinstalled it.
I took out my charcoal canister but as far as I can tell it does nothing... There are two nipples on the top of it and there was a line running to the one but the other had nothing on it. So, I just took it out for the moment because I'm still unsure about it.
I was reading my manual and am still trying to figure out what the clutch damper does? Is it a necessary part? I still wanna find a way to run an AN line from the slave cylinder to the master cylinder to clean it up and because of that "sludge" in the lines.
I was tearing the front end apart tonight too, preparing for my FMIC to be put on and I was wondering if there needed to be some type od bumper support for the bumper cover or not. I've heard yes and no but I don't really wanna cut the bumper support up if its not needed at all.
Am I gonna get any feedback in this thread at all? lol

The clutch damper if I remeber correctly is the jumble of shit on the front of the tranny. It was suppost to reduce pedal effort I believe. No its not necessary, all of the SS clutch lines by pass it.;)

The SS clutch lines run clear from the slave to the master? All of them that I saw looked like they were way too short to make it all that way.

I know SBR sells one that will run from the slave to the MC for $75. The ones you have seen run from the front right fender hardline to the slave.;)

Also I eliminated the charcoal canister that was under the battery and it didn't effect how my car ran. But I dont have emissions so I dont know what it would do there.

Yeah I don't have emissions here either... What did you do with the line that connected to it? How about the inline air filter and vent valve? It sure does looks like a lot of of un-necessary stuff. :)

I unhooked it all and plugged the connections.;)

Good... Tomorrow I'll be taking it all out then and plugging the lines... Or does our gas tanks vent through there? I thought they needed somewhere to vent to.
I also looked into that full SS line kit from SBR. It looks good, I think I'm gonna buy it and do it now while I have everything apart rather than later on.

Well I did this about 8 months ago and all of the details are a little fuzzy. I could look in my chilton and haynes manuals at the vacuum diagrams and see how everything ran if you need me to. Let me know. I won't be able to do it untill tonight because I have to drive home from college(220 miles).

I was readin about it here in my Haynes manual and I guess the proper term is the EVAP Canister... Anyways, from what I can tell it just vents the gas tank into this canister and then into the intake... Hmmm... This seems very confusing. The only thing I can see of importance is that it sends a signal to the ECM for all these stupid little sensors. Did you get a CEL after you did this? I'm almost thinking I can take the line that went into the canister and connect it to the one thats supposed to be going out from it. But, I only had one line going into my canister so thats where I run into a problem... Stupid emissions...

No it never threw a CEL.

I had a cel with my evap canister removed, put a small are filter on that line cause it vents the gas tank and you don't want any crap getting in there. I took care of the cel with dsmlink.

Did you get a code for the CEL first? I wanna know what kind of code its gonna throw if I take mine out.

Sorry i don't remember the code, cause dsmlink tells the problem and gives the code so i didn't really pay attention to the number.

Ahhh, ok... I'm just hoping it doesn't affect the performance of my car in any way with doing this. Then again I could always end up with a CEL for some other dumb reason since I have so much shit ripped out right now. lol
