My dad borrowed my truck for 3 days because he had to go to Cold Lake and bring something back with him. He came back today and i noticed that my stereo is messed up! Everytime i change the song number or mute or pause my subs make a really loud thud or popping noise and when u hav 3 12s doing it it feels like ur being shot! Anyways i dont noe how to fix it. My dad said that all he did was try to turn down the bass but didnt noe how to do it. I tried reseting my headunit but it didnt do anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated as quick as possible because im leaving on saturday morning to cold lake and wont hav internet access there til monday.

Does the thud/popping happen while listening to the stereo or while the stereo is off? I had that happen and it was a loose ground wire. If he was on bumpy roads, it may have come loose.

I'd check all the wiring to the stereo and amp to see if anything's loose. It's worth a shot.

One reason to never let the folks drive your truck. It took my dad a while to figure it out, he screwed up my settings several times.

I reset the headunit again last night and nothing happened but this morning the thudding stopped. Weird. Next time I let my dad borrow my truck im going to force him to read the instruction manual for my headunit or ill take the faceplate off!

The best thing to do is to but a switch for you remote wire for your amp when he takes your truck again turn the amp off. that what I had too do. just hide the switch under the dash.

Haha no I have two sealed 12s under the backseat and I took out my console/middle seat and made a single 12" ported box to fit inbetween. Works as an armrest too:bigthumb:
