Quick Question; Regarding RX7 Kits

Hey,
Just a quick question...I plan on picking up the Tamiya RX7 R1, with an engine, and I'm wondering if the wide array of Aoshima RX7 kits' body kits will fit (If that makes sense). What I mean is would a custom body kit (like, the Aoshima C-west kit) fit onto a Tamiya body? If not, does anyone know where I can get a body kit for this model?

Excellent, I was just double checking becasue I've heard of some RX7 kits with resin body kits that are too small, and I just wanted to be sure...
Thanks

No, actually, it wouldn't be a direct fit. Reason being, Tamiya's body and Aoshima's and Fujimi's FD3S RX-7 bodies all differ slightly in measurements.
I'm not saying you can't slap an Aoshima kit onto the Tamiya body, but you'll have to sand and putty it to get a perfect fit.
And the Tamiya RX-7 R1 kit has the front lip molded to the chassis, instead of to the body like Fujimi or Aoshima, that'll have to be modified inorder for a front bumper change.

Tamiya usually deviates from the 1:1 measurements to make the car look more realistic. Aoshima's FDs most probably differ from Tamiya's FD in terms of size. http://img239.imageshack.us/img239/818/poependkuiken0oi.gif
