I have an 95 escort that has a loud clicking noise that is coming from the passenger side of car. It sounds like it is coming from the front passenger wheel. I was wondering if this is possibly the wheel bearings or something else.

It could be a bearing. If the faster you go the ticking gets faster it is related to wheel speed. If it's something in the engine it will click faster as you rev the engine up while standing still. What's it do under these two conditions?

I only hear the clicking noise when it is moving. When I rev the engine it does not make the noise.

Hi, RE, your clicking noise, let's try to pin it down further, does it go away when you apply the brake? If so it is probably the slide pins worn on the brake calipers, causeing the pads to rattle,, Let me know....Clay..

The clicking noise is still heard when applying the brakes.

Sounds to me that it is the CV joint. Does it make the noise louder if you turn sharply to the left or the right?

Hi, You have diagnosed your problem, It's a cv joint, now all you have to do is find out which one....By the way it's cheaper and less hassle if you just replace the axle shaft assy.....Autozone about $60. Good Luck...Clay..
