Yesterday my crankshaft dropped me while i was going to school. The only modification i got for now is a CAI. I brought my car to the dealership (cause i stil have my warranty) and the manager of the casino acura here in Gatineau, Quebec , Canada, said that it was due to an over raving??! How can i do an over raving if i still have my cut off on??! Can somebody tel me if it's possible or the manager guy his totaly wrong?? Can it be something else? Thanks
*But there is one thing for sure, my crankshaft is realy the problem.

Well even though there is a fuel cutoff (rev limiter), if you are, for example, in 4th gear at redline and accidentally shift to 3rd, the revs will skyrocket past the rev limiter. However, if that happened i'm guessing there'd be damage all over the engine (pistons, etc.) and not just the crank.
Sorry, but i'm really not too sure what your problem is.

I still haven't figured out how to get my crankshaft to hold me in its tight embrace, much less drop me.
over raving??! How can i do an over raving if i still have my cut off on??!
Sounds to me like you need to lay off all the clubbing for a while. I once knew a guy who overravved and he ended up in ICU for a week. Those parties can really get to you.
LOL, Ok know that i got that out, i can maybe help you. What canuck said was right. It is very possible to "over-rev" an engine mechanically. there is nothing that can stop the engine from over revving (besides the brakes and good luck with that) when you manually put it in a lower gear. IT is forced to rev the engine through the wheels being connected to the trans and the trans being connected to the engine. Did you happen to accidently put the car in a lower gear when driving it close to thje redline or racing? If so, you most likely did screw it all up. I posted some pics a while back of an rsx-s engine i replaced due to this. Anyhow, good luck with that one. It cost the guy i put the engine in for close to $12,000.

12 grand?! Holy crap....isn't it like 5000 for a K20A and then labour on top of that? Or was something else damaged?

Well this is at an Acura dealership. I think our labor rate is $86.00 an hour. Then the customer bought a brand new block and head from us. Alond with a new clutch. The cat had to be replaced. That was a whopping $1200.00 right there. Plus all the pre diagnosis time. If i were the customer, i would have just bought a junkyard motor. But it wasnt my car or my decisions.
