Auto-stick transmissions - help please???

I know that you will all ball me out for buying an automatic, but I drive into Pittsburgh in stop and go traffic everyday, I just didn't want to deal with a stick, especially when dealing with coffee or a cell phone. Now that we've got that out of the way...

I love using the auto-stick mode. I shifts extremely smoothly, except about half of the time going from 2 to 3 it kind of hits hard. It's not terrible or loud, but it makes me wonder whether I should have it looked at. Or is this not a big deal? It doesn't do this with the automatic at all.
