As of 2nights ago i had to pull a friend out of a snow ditch. We'll for the last few days my truck has been running funny. I could be driving and it seems liek it's missing a gear or the tranny isn't allowing the truck to shift. It's an automatic and i figured maybe the 4x4 is trying to engage but realized it's been in 2wheels drive ever since i took it out of 4wheel drive the night i pulled him out. I honestly dont know what is going on and hopfully it's not my tranny going on me. It seems like it's struggling and i know this is prob not the best description of my problem but you would have to drive in it to actually understand what i mean. This weekend im going to change out my old tranny filter and tranny fluid , also if i get the tiem my fuel filter. Hopfully this changes it because i hoenstly dont know when it was changed since not many people actually take care of the truck the right way.
If anyone has a idea of what his could be let me know.
Sincerly
Tony

this sounds like a problem i had with mine.
it sounds like you have some hardware damage inside the tranny.
it cost me like $800 when i had a problem of no reverse, and i lost 2 gears.
turned out that one of the clutch drums had a broken peice, and one of the servos was broke. if you know nothing about rebuilding trannies, then it would be advisable to take it to a transmissioin shop. i saved about $150 to $200 removing and reinstalling the trans myself.
you more than likely have the 4L60E transmission.

The thing is though i dont think it's that major. My truck dont seem to have less power in any gears and my friends father looked at it and he dont know what it is. * LIscensed Mechanic * Hopefully it's not the tranny cus then im gonna b out like 800 to get it rebuilt but then again it will b worth it in the long run? We'll today im changing out the tranny filter and put in new fluid. Hopefully this works cus when i put all new plugs and wires most of the plugs were extreamly hard to get out and really worn . Which gave me the basic thought that whoever owned it befor me didn't take the best care of it. We'll thanks for the help man i will keep you updated with this problem and hopfully it is just sumthing simple rather then a new tranny.
Appriciate the help
