Car shut down for no reason

I have a 93 GrandAm, 3.3 engine, tonight as I was driving home the car shut off at a red light, had a difficult time getting it to restart. After several tries, of sputtering the car finally started and began to run normal as always. Does anyone know what caused this, and how do I prevent it from happening again. By the way this car is well maintained and has 156600 miles on it. Any help will be greatly appreciated.:banghead:

Could be a couple of things, check and change the fuel filter if it has not been changed recently. If not the problem could be in the crank position sensor or the fuel pump itself. Check the fuel pressure and see if it is normal. If so then the next item will be the CPS.
