Anyone have some (1-2) Turbo bolts or (2-3) o2 housng-to-turbo 14mm bolts laying around?? I'm not really sure what they cost at the dealership or if you can get them at Napa or some other parts store..

Why not? Whats the difference between a bolt you get from there compared to the dealer? As long as the tensile strength is the same or higher it will work perfect and be a hell of a lot cheaper than getting it from the dealer.

He isn't lieing. I had to replace the pressure plate bolts on my flywheel this summer. I paid $.97 a bolt. Not bad, but I needed them in two days because I was moving and had to get my car back together. I paid about $6 for bolts and about $30 to get them shipped. None of my local parts houses or hardware stores could get/stock the bolts. Mitsubishi doesn't drop ship, and the ONLY shitty fucking dealer in the state doesn't stock them. So I had to pay overnight shipping to the dealer and from the dealer to myself. I was pissed. Nothing like getting :nutkick: and then :boink:. Now that I have thought about it again I am pissed off.

Alright well I have bitched long enough. Morale of the story is try and find the parts locally before ever going to the dealer.:iceslolan

i replaced the bolt that holds my shifter plate down with one from a hardware store the other night. I snapped the first one. Dealer wanted 6 bucks. It ran me 19 cents. It doesnt' matter what it is a bolts a bolt as long as it wont break on you.

I don't think you van get bolts suitable for the turbo or 02 housing at a hardware store. I don't have any bolts laying around but i know you can get the from some shops for like $7 a piece!!!

That's what I was thinking. RRE has them for like a dollar a peice.. I'll look into it a little further... Does anyone know what the thread and pitch is on the turbo and o2 bolts? Any links?

I had to get them from extremepsi.com

they have decent prices

I have my old turbo bolts, but those are pretty rusted, and they kept wiggling themselves out, which is why I bought new ones in the first place.

I don't know why not, I can't imagine it needing anything more than a grade 8 bolt. But even if it does most hardware stores around here carry any grade, pitch and size you could ever need in larger size bolts(but of course not little PP bolts :banghead: ). But I don't know, when you get them you should post the bolt specs in this thread. :iceslolan

I can grantee you that if you bought a grade 8 bolt from a hardware store and compare it to a grade 8 bolt from the dealer its the exact same thing, they just charge more because its from the dealer. IIRC the stock bolts are grade 7 so grade 8 would be plenty

You can get bolts made out of diffrent meterials to provide diffrent tensil strenghts. When it comes to high heat, low expantion, high tensil bolts for exhasut systems I havn't checked it out. I just wanted to see if anyone has some they bought and never used. Thanks anyways guys... I'll do some checking...

wow joe, I hope you didn't have to get those bolts out by hand.....the tip of one of my bolts looked like that, and it took an hour with an impact to get it to shimmy off like that.

Thats slow boy's hardware page. I'd go hit the hardware store to man. We had to today actually. Mike lost the turbo to LICP and the fan bolts. $5 later we are ready for fire the bastard up.
