alright well i have a few problems with my car the main one i have is my ac doesnt blow very cold and second the heat on my car has no happy medium its either too cold or too hot also i have a problem with my car idling too low and it does it even if its in park or in gear. another problem i have is my running lights only work when they feel like it does anyone know what maybe causing this i do know my cars wiring was hacked pretty baddly by a back yard mechanic so i suppose it could be a short somewhere but i dont know because they do work once in a while. is it possibly a fuse or something altho i have changed all the fuses in the car. Oh if anyone is wondering it is a 1998 ford contour sport with the 2.0 and a/t with overdrive altho my overdrive was also disconnected by someone also. if anyone knows where to buy parts too that would be great i need a drivers door skin, passenger side window motor, drivers side 4 way heated mirror, hood (was damaged in a hurricane in florida), one alloy rim and 2 center caps, also would like to get a new back seat it appears the one thats in it now was chewed by someones dog at some point, also would like replacement front seats carpet headliner and center part of dashboard (part around radio and ac and heat controls as it was damaged when someone stole my stereo). oh and does anyone know how to find out if the car came with keyless entry when new?

AC: Sounds like it could use a recharge.
Heat: First things I'd check are the thermostat and the engine coolant level. Is the car running at proper temp?
Idle: Sounds like the IAC valve.

well i should probally add that i already recharged the ac which didnt help much and another small part for the ac was changed but i cant remember right now what it was. coolant is at the right level and was just changed about 3 months ago and the car was running at the proper temp but i think my thermostat is starting to go im going to change it probally in the next week or so. wheres the IAC valve located and how hard is that to change?

On the 2.0, no idea. I'd do a search for IAC in the Zetec Maintenance forum on contour.org. You'll find tons of info on it there.

The 98 Contour should have keyless entry if you have power locks.

You can confirm with a quick call to your local Ford dealership's parts department with your VIN number. If they check the VIN and you have Keyless Entry, all you need to do is add remotes to the system.
