How to remove a truck bed?

I need to replace my rear brakelines on my 90 2wd 2500. I hear the easiest way is to take the bed off. Any suggestions?
I don't have a lift but wondered if jackstands would hold it up. Also should I get replacement bolts before I start? How much does a bed weigh? Any other tidbits that would make this easier?
Thanks, I really do appreciate tapping into the experience on this forum.

You will need 4 strong backs.... There are 8 bolts that hold the bed to the frame, the taillight wiring needs to be unplugged, also all the bolts that hold the gas neck on and the grounding strap....then just pull it up and off.

The bed weighs around 400to 500lbs.. I use a cherry picker to pull mine off.

And change the fuel sending unit while you're at it, beats pulling the tank out.
Get a look at the brake lines too:eek:
