I just took a hand saw and cut that little tab from the bumper to that bolt underneath the headlight. Then you can drop the bumper with no problem at all and get that bolt for the headlight out.

so are you saying there is a bolt underneath the headlights? that really doesnt make sence becasue i dont think mitsu would make it so you had to cut the bumper to take the headlights out. i may be getting it wrong, but thats what i got from your post. is there any way to get the bumper off without cutting? do you only need to remove 4 bolts from the housing to take it out or is there more?

There is a bolt or maybe 2 under the headlight. I can't remember for sure if there is 1 or 2, But there is at least one under there. I wouldn't think Mitsu would design it like that either, but thats the only way I have found to getting around it. Everyone I talked to did the same thing... Maybe Mitsu has a special tool for getting to the bolts under the headlights.

He speaks the truth! Haha yeah I just took my bumper off a few days ago and YES there is a damn bolt(I think it is plastic btw) right under the head light on each side holding the bumper on. I took all the bolts off but, those two. Then the passenger side fell out when I started wiggling the bumper(wierd!). Then for the driver side I basically just cut the tab. Dumb place to put that bolt if you ask me...

You can take the bolts that hold the core off. If you go under the car look straight up and you will see two bolts on (two each side) the are 14mm and hold the suppoert for the core take those out and the whole thing will come off.

ok take all 4 bolts off in the fender welds. then take the 5 across the front of the bumper under the hood. make sure all the shit under the bumper is off already then grab in the miuddle and pull like hell. oh btw dont bust ur ass when they break.

Do you want me to take pictures of the bolts i'm talking about? You DON'T have to take the headlights off to get the bumper off using this method.

Hmm... But, I don't see how you could. A bolt for the headlight is behind the bumper and you can not get to it with out taking off the bumper. Secondly, a bolt holding the bumper on is right under the headlight. I honestly do not know how else you would be able to get this bolt off.

The bumper cover is bolted to the bumper core if you take those bolts out the the whole assembly comes out. Same with putting it back on.

ok so i looked yesterday for those four bolts you were talking about. i saw 2 bolts on one side, but they were so close to the raiator and other things they would have been impossible to take off (i think). i figure im looking at the wrong ones becasue you sound like its easy. so... yes could you take some pictures of what you are talking about. i would like to sell the bumper cover and i donnt want to sell some one one that is broken...id feel bad:frown: thanks and sry if im hassling you to take some pitures.

The bottom headlight screw is a PITA. When I used to swap mine on and off, I used this: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=99973. Vince actually had a temp sticky on this too, IIRC. Try searching for that :). Good luck.

Edit>> The tech article no longer has the pics :(. I only saved the link, not the pics. Sorry.
