The Florida AF meet has been a long time in the making. I remember threads about it when I first joined May 05.
Sounds like it is finally coming to fruit. If its in Orlando (or anywhere nearby) I may swing by, if you guys don't mind irregulars showing up. Also assuming my 93 z28 is up for the 20 mile trip.

Oh, then we'll teach my buddy a lesson who claims the only reason why my 'maro beats his rustang is because it's fuel injected.

68 302H block (torque monster, supposed to be in a Galaxie that weighs in a good few hundred pounds over a fox)
heads donated from a '98 Exploder (a real advantage over the stockers by all means)
comp cam (don't remember the exact grind # off the top of my head but it's a good mid ragne street/strip)
t5 trans
street avenger carb
msd points ignition.
all old school, all n/a
Street radials we got him in 15's
drag radials, I think his most recent best was in the mid 13's, I think the car can do better and he's not reacting just yet.
Many nights spent til 3 in the morning tuning that damn thing then he goes and messis with again and gets it out of whack. Called me this weekend telling me he just rebuilt the carb, but "oh, can you come over and look at something for me?" urrg. :nutkick:

DJ is talking about another member who lives in Florida and asked if it was cool if he dropped by but he was asking since he doesnt come on everyday like me or some other frequent members.
Also how long has it been since you smoked, and did your wife make you quit with a threat? "If you dont stop smoking, you can forget about your hummers while eating philly cheesesteaks!" or what, Jim?

Smoking... hard hard time breathing. What better time to quit smoking than when you can't breathe, right???
Also, I don;t want my kids to ever remember it, hopefully they'll never smoke. It's bad shit.

i've never smoked a cigarette in my life, i see these people smoking driving cavaliers with rods knocking smoking as much as they do, if they didnt smoke they could be cruising in a z06 or something...there are much better things i could spend my hard earned money on.........and yes pot pies are great, my moms home made ones are the best

ahh i see....i have no problem with people spending their money on anything they want, IF they have the money...if someone wants to buy a million dollar home, that is great, but they shouldnt go weeks without food to pay for it, you know? i dont have a problem with people smoking, thats their problem, but when they are that apparently poor yet spend hundreds a month on cigarettes, that should be cause for concern on their part. i've seen people try to use food stamps to pay for cigarettes......

Well in PA ciog are ~$5 a pack... 1.5 miles down the road in DE they're ~$2.50 for the same exact thing.
I quit for health reasons, and b/c I wanna see my kids grow up, etc.
and yeah, the V8 / 4cyl... you switched engines b/c of a reason (whatever it would be) and it would work, but you'd be VERY unhappy about it.
Oh and I start up and uit every tax season about 2 or three times. Originally quit 5 years ago - smoked 2 packs a day. (Man was I a grouchy bastard for a couple months.)

but say $5 a pack, 2 a day, $10 a day, that's a lot of money that could be put into a car, house, whatever...i'm not trying to lecture anyone about smoking or anything...i'm mostly just making fun of those who can't afford to yet will do without just to smoke, kinda sad

Yeah, but Jim here's the irony, we're probably gonna die now because we quit. For the 16 years I smoked i never had any discomforts or problems. Now I got blood pressure problems, sporadic chest pains, you name it.
I tell ya, i never liked George Burns for some reason. But i caught him once on a talk show, toking away on a sotgie as usual, and was asked if he'd ever clean up. He answered "20 years ago my doctor told me if I didn't straighten up I'd be dead soon. Well i still smoke my cigars, and have 5 martinis a day, he (the doctor) died a few years later".

I LOVE SMOKING.. but it's bad shit man. You never realize just how bad until you're laying in bed at night trying to catch your breath. AND you save like 3K-4K per year for quitting, don't get tired as fast during sex (probably the best reason for quitting), you stuff doesn't stink...
