A new problem now!
This has happened a couple of times now. Whenever I go to start my Alero (99 3.4L V6), it makes a rattling/scraping type noise and it takes longer to start up. Other times though, it starts up just fine. It did this a few times the other day when I was trying to get it to start so I could go home from the store. Could it be the starter? My "Change Oil" light has been on for maybe two weeks and I've been ignoring it because I don't have money for an oil change until this Friday, could this be causing it? Any feedback will be appreciated! THANKS!

Sounds like it could be starter noise. When they wear out it becomes difficult for it to engage the flywheel. A replacement starter should take care of it or sometimes the starter can be shimmed where it mounts to engage better.
The oil change light is unrelated. You can reset the light anytime even without doing an oil change.

Don't pay anyone to change the starter. Pick up the part from an autoparts store. They're EXTREMELY easy to change. If you get up under the car, there is a little plastic access panel that has little plastic srews and it comes off really easily. The starter is just above that.
