'97 Talon not compatible w/ Eclipse? help plz

Hey all, per an earlier post, someone stated that an eclipse bumper will bolt right on to a 97 talon.

i've spoken w/ over 6 different part vendors and they say no eclipse bumper is compatible w/ a 97 talon w/ just bolting on.

somebody help me please? i need a new bumper

The six venders are wrong. The eclipse and talon are the same wit slightly different cosmetics. Under neath everything is the same so it will bolt right up.

It will bolt on, but it's gonna look weird with an eclipse front end/talon back end.

The only reason I can think of that they would tell you that would be the difference in headlights...

Here is mine with stock Talon headlights, as you can see the bumper fits them perfectly.

Now, here it is with new headlights that are meant for an Eclipse and not a Talon. There is a slight gap in the middle, but if I were to convert to an Eclipse bumper it would fit perfectly.

All in all, you can do a simple swap of the bumpers so long as your headlights will allow it. If not, then change your headlights to Eclipse ones too. :thumbsup:

sweet! thanks guys!! now that i know eclipse front bumpers will work, the next job is to find out which one to get. i'm thinking of getting an aftermarket customized one, but i don't want one w/ any ground effects - they suck and completely destroy the vehicle's maneuverabliility.

You could just get a stock 2g eclipse front bumper, if you wanted.

The 2GB Talons use 2GA Eclipse Headlights.
