Ipods Suck!

Got my video Ipod in december and now it wont take a charge or reset or do anything but freeze up ... I think Im going to kill it:banghead:

did you ever leave it in your car out in the cold for a long time (like overnight)? cuz if you did, you just voided the warranty. ipods are fragile like that sadly

Those Ipods are pieces of junk, my friend works at best buy and he says they get on average like 15-25 a day that come in with problems. He said the new Nanos have been pretty good, but on average with normal style Ipods he said about 1 out of 5 will require some type of service within the first year.

Dont know why people dont just get the better mp3 players..

Yeah, I like the toshibas and gateways.... and a lot of the time you get the same functions and more storage space for less money just because isn't an I-pod

my nano lasted a grand total of 5 days. took it back, was offerend a new one. took the refund instead.

Yeah I don't know I don't actually own an MP# player I just know what I like from people I know owning them... but I actually don't see the need for them.. When i listen to music I'm either in the car or at home and in both places I have radios/cd players/my computer, so I don't really see the need for it... But I guess if you don't have a car and rely on public transportation or are in school or something then I can see how one might be good.....

Damn you everybody else must be pretty unlucky because I've had my iPod for close to 3 years and I beat the piss out of that thing and it still works like the day I "recieved" it.

Yea from what i heard they suck. All my friends Ipods's broke.

Ipod's are garbage. My older bro has one and is trying to get his money back because it's been away for so long.

I'm quite happy with my Creative Jukebox which has lasted me over 2 years now with no problems, battery life is still amazing and has put up with a lot of punishment (ie. dropping, being crushed, extreme temperatures etc..)

My girlfriends brother actually got an awesome player. It's around 40 or 50 gigs and has tons of options on it. It's got a huge as video screen and has ports that allow to record directly from your TV to the player. I think he said it was around 400 or so and I'm pretty sure I'm going to pick one up when I get the funds.

i've seen one like that, has the abilibty to hold loads of movie an stuff, looked cool. but i had no use for it..

My iPod works fine, and I've had it for a while. I love it.

I've left my ipod in my truck all winter (minnesota) and it still runs fine. Everyone who is bitching just buy a warrenty and its all good. I used mine on the 20gig when i wanted to upgrade to a 30 gig video. Couldnt be happier. Can watch the movies at home or in my truck...whatever.

Seriously i dont know what some people do to stuff to make it break. Mine went the entire MN winter in my truck overnight (every night) and still works. Start it up right when i get in and have never had a problem. Of course if i did, i use the warranty and get a new one.

things with the old ipods is that they are hard drives. it has moving parts. moving parts are bound to break faster. bound to heat up faster. bound to give you more problems. that's why the new Nano and Video are flash memory. No moving parts. more reliable.

but, that's not saying that old ipods are unreliable. My friend has had hers for the longest time, never serviced it. it's dropped from decent heights, stayed out in the heat, direct sunlight that discolored it a bit, but still works.

The video uses a hard drive just like the old full size ones do. I know this because I have a 30gb video and i can feel the vibration of the hard disk in it when accessing a video or song. It's worked flawlessly, even considering the rough life i give it, (dropped it, left in cold and hot weather, etc..)

I have an iPod shuffle, although its not mine, its my brothers, it holds 500mb, about 86ish songs, including a few 10 minute-plus songs.

My biff with it is I can't put it on "hold" and when riding my bike it can sometimes skip songs >.< still.

I want an iPod but I dun wanna pay 600 bucks for one.

Yes, the video in fact does have a HD. Its noticable when you have to reboot.

brought my ipod mini to the dealer yesterday because the battery was driving me nuts for months...
i charged it for more than 16 hours on thursday and it still wasn't done...so i thought fuck it and took it to school with me.10 minutes later in the bus it says that the battery is empty and switches itself off..fucker

You totally missed my point. You DONT tell them that stuff. They cant prove you did so why give them a chance to deny the warranty?

Thanks for all that great info. The apple warrenty is crap. I hate sending stuff in to get it fixed and then sent back to me. Which is why when i buy stuff like that *most of the time* ill just buy to stores warranty. Also if you would have read all the posts(including mine) I left my ipod in my truck all winter (minnesota winters get cold) and it still runs perfect. Even if it breaks, oh ill just goto bestbuy and ill get a new one or i get the original purchase price towards an upgrade.

I hate my iPod now, its just a shitty little shuffle, but it did me what I wanted, till now.

I go for a walk by my self grab the iPod and half way back to my cabin where I was stayin (Went away to get pissed for a few days straight) fucker stopped working right in the middle of a song, started flashing those shitty lights and crap, now my computer wont recognise my iPod and that just sucks.

And the PSP is pretty cool, I don't know why some of ya'll don't like them. PSPs suck, they are overpriced and overrated. IMO psps are a complete waste. I would rather have a gameboy. The psp a phone? Yeah, and oversized ugly phone. No thanks, didnt nokia already try that? Yeah, it sucked so bad i dont even remember what they called it. My ipod has movies, music, and pictures. Its pretty much all preference when you compare the Ipod to a PSP. I will NEVER own a PSP. Portable gaming just doesnt appeal to me. Honestly how many times are you out of your house and want to play a game on a tiny screen? I would much rather play on a TV.
