Painting a 2001 Tahoe

Has anyone painted the side moldings and front bumpers? Not the chrome part but the lower and top part. I was going to just get the aftermarket bumpers but i want to hold on to my tow hooks a little longer. If anyone has done them how does it look and hold up?

I have painted the bumpers and the side molding on Hoes Blazers Trucks and a few other things over the last 15 years. Prep the piece making sure all wax and for sure any silicone type stuff like Armor All is off the piece to be painted. Then scuff with a 3m brand scotch brite pad (the purple looking one) medium. You can also use one of these in soapy water to wash the part you are going to paint. Some claim you have to use special paint for molding but I use regular auto paint or the auto grade in the spray bomb if you don't have all the equipment/ Just take your time put on even coats and don't rush it between the coats.:screwy:
