looking for steering rack

Hey im looking for a steering rack for my 97 gst. If anyone has a used and functioning properly rack, please let me know thanks.

I looked at some replacement parts online and they're like 300 rack and pinion. im just trying to save money.

have you tried calling a parts store and see what they go for?

$228 after core. Thats for the whole kit, Are you sure you need everything?

I dont think I need everything, my tie rod ends are still manageable. Do I have to send it my core?

Have you tried Autozone? Don't they have a used parts program...?

I think my auto teacher said that rack and pinion steering stuff is pretty tough. I would just go get one from a junk yard.

I took the rack and pinion like 2 weeks ago. It moved from from left to right and I still dont get why my wheel locks up everytime I turn left while backing up. It pops out of the lock when I put it on first gear and start moving forward. So I thought it was just the tie rod end hitting the knuckle so I put the rack back and adjusted the rod (pretty much like centering the rack) and it still does it. The pinion probably jumped a few teeth when I got into a car accident?
