Ok I was talking to one of my friends who owns his own body shop and we were talking about my car and makeing it faster ... I mentioned to him that I wanted to put a turbo in it ... he looked at me and said it would be much easier and cheaper to just buy a new engine ... So hear is what I need an opinion on would it be cheaper to just put a v8 in my car and do all the work myself or to put a turbo ????? Thank you for your insite .....

Well a turbo kit can cost anywhere from 1500 to 4000.. idk what gen ur car is.. but if its a 3rd gen, i would build a new engine, since engines arent too strong. lt1's, i wouldnt bother, and if its an ls1, you could turbo it, but not a whole lot of boost. might even want to rebuild it and put some pistons in it to lower the compression.
If you did a custom turbo setup, it wouldnt be easier (i dont think it would be) than doing a new engine build. But again, it depends on your engine. carbureted 350's are cheapest.. mines got $3500 in it and made 477 hp.. but yea i dont have much more to say.. except for maybe say what year ur car is, and if its a firebird or t/a.
