Need some info

My friends dad has a 97 sierra, extended cab, 2500, it has the 454, and his dad has been talking shit about how it would kill my truck in a race. I have a 97 sierra, 350, 1500. Both trucks are 2wd. I've talked to some people and 1 guy said I would beat him cause that truck has more towing power and not made for getting up and going. and another guy said it would just out horsepower me in a race. When i road in it and my friend was on it my truck seemed faster, so any info on this or what do u guys think?

wow lol... it the 454 is anything like it was in the pre-vortec 90's days, it wont make a whole lot more power. i think in the early nineties the 350 made 210 horse while the 454 made prolly 250 horse... the difference is probly gonna be which truck weighs more. the 454 also probably has a lot more torque at lower rpm's than the 350, so i would be a little shy to bet money on it lol... y dont u just race him for the hell of it lol... its just a couple pickups anyways, they arent built for racing in the first place lmao... i know from experience with my 73 chevy truck

Ok I raced him 3 times, everytime I just killed him, I took off on him early in the race and he couldn't pull me down.
