Looking for a 68-74

I am looking for a 68-74 Corvette. I want to rebuild it over the summer. I want a roller, not necissarily a runner. Spindles cost way to much to redo. I would prefer a big block, manual, coupe. But the big block is an easily fixed problem. Does anyone have one or know a good place to look. Autotrader doesn't go below 1981 and all Ebay has are $10,000-$50,000 fully restored show cars. I am currently in the $5,000 range, depending on what I get for my Fiero. Thanks.

I know a guy that has a 74' big block. Is central Wisconsin too far for you?

Depends, is it a manual, and how much is it. Also what shape is it in?

REPLY: Im preparing to sell my 1970 BB T Top Coupe very soon. Its probably a little out of your price range though as its a frame up restoration, new motor buildup, and in solid number 2 condition. Trophy winner also. Its current value is $38,000 and id go down to a rock bottom price of $34,000 . It would come with a ton of extras including service manuals, extra brand new parts , and even some Corvette jackets with the C3 logo on them. Its a 4 speed,370 rear, numbers matching, desktop dyno says : 540 h.p / 600 tq. Its true L88 performance with the torque peaking at 4400 rpms. In the wrong hands it dangerous to drive. Dave.

No, sounds like a beautiful car, but it is too expensive. My Corvette fanatic friend and I have been discussing swaps, so now I am looking for a C3 corvette 1968 to 1982 an engine, any tranny (no engine or tranny would work to). As of right now I have $1600 to spend but that number is going up soon. Does anyone have a car like this?

I have a 1975 Roadster I am trying to sell in Texas. It is most definiately a project car. See corvette.dougandhannah.com for more details. I will be updating it with more pictures in the next week. I would be willing to sell for $2000.
