Ok just bought a 2000 blue civic si and i was wondering what should i do with the civic. A supercharge or a turbocharge. I was to get the max out of my engine so what do you guys think i should do?

you can run higher boost with the turbo. supercharge is constant but turbo has more gains.

superchargers are not always constant. the centrifugal puts out power like a turbocharger, and looks like one too! (vortech), but it does not give constant power across the powerband. it has lags just like turbo. the new generation of supercharger is said to be more efficient than a turbo also. if you want constant power, a twin root or a twin screw should do. twin screw would give you gains of the centrifugal and powerband of a twin root. now since they don't make twin screw for civics, a twin root would be nice (jackson racing superchargers). in benefit to the twin root unit, it provides you with low end torque, and high end power. it may not have the greatest gain, but u get gains from idle to the redline. a turbo would be nice if you want. drag, greddy, f-max, etc should give you a lot of power. but if you want to MAX out the possible power your B16 will make, a custom turbo is a must. now are you sure you want to max out your engine? u would have to rebuild your engine from the internals.

I agree, but to help out that turbo lag, you can invest in an electtronic boost controller. It'll keep you boosting at the same level the whole time (save atmospheric conditions).
