Left turn signal not working - 1998

I have a 1998 Caravan 2.4L

The left turn signal isn't working at all, neither the front nor the rear - also, the arrow wont flash on the dashboard & there is no 'click'. The right turn signal works fine. The parking light on both sides work fine & all other lights work. Also, when I turn on the hazard lights, only the right side comes on (the flasher clicks like normal too).

I tried changing out the turn signal fuse under the dash but that didn't help anything. I also tried changing the flasher fuse in the relay box (under the hood) but that didn't work either. I checked the bulbs too, they aren't burnt out.

Now I'm lost on this one, if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I'm betting it's bad left side contacts in the combination flasher module (commonly-flasher) on the Junction Block Panel or corroded contacts on the module or panel socket. Try reseating it before you buy one. Since the left side parking lights work, power and ground connections are good. If the fuse was blown you'd have no parking lights. This link shows it: http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBroker?ForwardPage=/az/cds/en_us/0900823d/80/1a/46/8c/0900823d801a468c.jsp Don't think it's the combination switch (turn sig switch) because the hazards don't work either. There's schematics at that same link but, the Haynes manual has a better one. Let us know.

Should let you know there is a caution telling you to disconnect the negative cable from the battery and waiting two minutes before doing anything under the dash. Setting off an airbag could ruin your day.

I would bet on a bad turn signal switch.

I had one go bad on an Intrepid my dad has. left turn wouldn't work either in "passing" mode or Clicked down for turning. No left dash arrow...
And I came to find out, it had no left rear Brakelight, either! Hazards did not work either.
What a pain that was, 2 month's out of warranty (7/70). Chrysler finally refunded the part cost after my dad argued with them for a month (my Dad is relentless when it comes to stuff like this, even at 83!).
I had the new switch installed in about a half hour...not too much trouble, but that was an Intrepid (a 3.5L ES, not the crummy sludge motor!)

Spent weeks last year trying to figure out the same problem on my 1999, turned out in the end it was the flasher module, thats where I would start.

Update: I bought a new flasher module at the dealer - cost me $45. Now the turn signal works. Thanks!

Wow. Was it gold plated? Probably a dealer only part. Hope the emergency flasher works too. Thanks for letting us know. Too many don't.
