Replaced oild lines - now a question

I would have taken pictures but way too messy. Just replaced the oil cooler lines on my 98 4x4 Blazer. It was a bitch. Replaced them with Dorman's. I got everything back on but I just couldn't get that little bolt back into the bracket that holds the lines to the block so the lines won't rattle. My question is, does that need to be bolted in place or not? Not much room to deal with. Got the bracket off with my 1/4 rachet. The new bracket is at a small angle so I can't get the bolt through it and into the hole to tighten it in place.

It would be better to have a hold down bracket on them.
If you can not get it try some good plastic cabel ties or maybe a hose clamp on them someplace.
Where there is a will there is a way.

Make sure they are atleast secured some way so they are not bouncing around. If you let them bounce around there is a good chance they will wear away when they are rubbing against other objects in your engine bay making you need to do it over again. Unless you really liked changing those lines.

Get that hand and 1/4" up in there but you need the socket magnetic insert that holds the bolt and spaces out at the end of the socket to get it to go in. Did two of them and that rear line is a big messy pain in the ....

Thanks for the input. I guess I will have to just get in there and do it. I got the skid plate still off. Hopefully this weekend will be nice enough to take the blazer to the car wash and clean the underside. Looks like the lines have been leaking for quite awhile. Then I'll try to get that bolt in.
