EGR valve question?

eyy guys i gotta 95 talon esi, having some problems only with the car at idle..and initial startup...seems like the car wants 2 stall....check engine light is on...scanned it, it said the egr was the problem sooo i disconnected it opened it up and cleaned it...this worked for about a week n now im having the same problem...i gottta quote on a new egr valve and it was about $250.00 bucks anyone know where i can get one 4 cheaper....

Ebay. I'm sure someone is selling one on here too. That seems way too high for the valve. Check all the lines and hoses. What code is it? It may be the solenoid?

if it's the valve it's 100 bucks from autozone if you install it yourself.

i think its the solenoid....the egr itself i beileve is attatched 2 the side of the block..the solenoid with is what i took apart is plastic and is black..at least i think its the solenoid...and when i opened it up there was a orange circular gasket in the middle...is that the solenoid??? if it is then thats what i need..

Yup, that's it. I got replace mine this week. Got one sitting on my bed as we speak. The valve itself can last forever if done right. The solenoid tends to be the first to go. Very easy to replace and I think it's cheap too.

ya ayte...its easy 2 tale apart i jusss diditn know if i needed 2 repalce the egr valve or the solenoid..i guss the quote i got was 4 the valve obv cuz it was really expensive.. nice talon by the way..my looks like that but..red..i always wanted a black one though..list of mods looks good 2 ..thanks for your help

i got 1 more question 4 you...the car its a 95 esi?...did u install the raised spoiler cuz i was positive all 95 esi's came with the low spoiler...

Yeah I did. I'm a big fan of that spoiler, so I drove a long distance just to pick one up. Then installed myself. Looks like it's stock it's on so good.
