I have a 1993 1500 suburban 5.7 liter. It started out just stalling out but would start right back up. When running it ran fine. Now it won't start at all. I pour a small amount of fuel into it and it starts up but dies right away. I've searched the forum but annot find out where the fuel pump or filter is and how to check and or replace. Would apprecite any help I could get.

Craw under the truck. About in the center of inside frame on drivers side you will find the fuel filter.
The fuel pump is in the gas tank.

Thanks, I will try the filter first. Is there some way I can insure it is the fuel pump before tackling that job.
Thanks, again

Always check for spark at spark plugs when it quits first.
If good spark move on to a fuel pressure check and and check for voltage and ground to fuel pump.
What engine code MPI or TBI?

mt-2500 the engine code is TBI. Hey it started this morning and was running like it didn't have a problem? I gunned the engine and it reved up fine, but it died when I let off the gas? It restarted once and I did it again with the same result. Now it won't start at all again. am I wrong but I would think if it was the fuel pump or filter it would die when calling for more gas?

Ok if it will not start again. It is the best time to find out why.
First check for spark at the spark plugs.
If good hot blue spark at more than one spark plug.
Move on to the fuel filter and fuel pressure check.
What is the fuel pressure. Has it got good pressure nd volume?
Does the fuel pump quit running when the engine quits or will not start.
You need 9-13 lbs of fuel pressure for the TBI engine.

MT-2500, thanks for the information. It was more than I was able to do. I had it towed to the shop yesterday. If you would like I will post the results.

MT-2500 - The problem with the Suburban ended up being the ignition module & magnetic pick up. You were right if I would have had someone to try and start while I checked for spark I would have found it? Thanks again for all of the info.

Thanks for posting back and letting us know how it went.
Glad you got it fixed and going again.
And 10-4 on checking for spark. You need to check them when they will no start or catch them in the act.
Good Luck
