i had the timming belt changed on my sons car and it runs ruffer than before it was changed, i took it back to the repair shop and they said it will run ruff until the computer adjusts itself, is this true?:banghead:

no. they have the belt off a tooth. make em fix it.

Is a Geo for god sake what self learning computer can have?
Those guys are full of bull.

Take it to another shop and have them do it right, then take the invoice to the "Shop of thieves" and make them pay for it. But first let them know of your intent before you act.

Here is the debunker - the timing belt keeps everything in time. This means that if the belt was correctly installed, everything would remain the same even if the computer was a learner.

They are thiefs and liars...try to get what they tell you in writing.

Blake makes a great point about getting it in writing.If a shop tells you something but is hesitant about putting it in writing that should tell you something about their credibility.I've got a story about a Ford dealership that would blow your mind,but since there is nothing in writing there was'nt much we could do about it.

They've definitely got it off by a tooth. When I replaced the front oil seal on mine I did the same thing...fortunately i had a hunch to crank it before i put it all back together. It cranked and ran but it was skipping and revving up all by itself...really rough sounding. One tooth makes a lot of difference.
Sounds like you've got one jewel of a repair shop...:screwy:
