A/C griding/squeeling noise

I have a 1997 GTP. I've been hearing a grinding noise (and really loud squeeling at times )noise from time to time when the heat or air is running. It only does it every once in a while, it's not every time I turn it on, but it won't run but just for a little bit before it starts making the noise again.
What would be causing this? Has anyone else experienced this?

If the noise is coming from under the passenger side of the dash it sounds like you have a bad HVAC blower motor. Probably the bearings. It is not that difficult to replace DIY.

Is there a site or somewhere I can get a step by step on how to do that?

Move the passenger side seat back for room.
First look on the passenger side below the glove box you will see 3 plastic press pins on the kickpanel. You need to remove the 3 press pins and kick panel can be removed.
Looking underneath you will see a bracket holding a bundle of wires and a few vacuum hoses on the left side of the blower motor. This is held on with 2 screws. Remove the screws and let the bracket hang off to the side.
Undo blower electrical connector. Now remove the blower motor by removing the 3 screws/bolts (5.5mm) holding it up into the lower evaporator assembly.

Thanks for the info. I did some research, and it looks like there are a few different blower motors. Do you know what part number it would be for my 97 GTP?
