Goodbye POS Grandam

I have gotten rid of my 2001 Grandam and will never own another. I posted everything that went out on it a while back. Ignition switch, wheel bearing,cv joint, blower switch, fuel pump, hazard switch, and brake problems. All this in less than 2 years. I've traded it in on a 06 civic even though I'm a little upside down now it was worth it to get rid of the pos. Pontiac should just recall all grandams and burn them and buy everyone a real car. Sorry if I sound hard but I've never owned a worse car than that one.

um, you must not have taken car of the car, or it was just a lemon.

Almost everything he mentioned I have had go wrong with mine as well. I know how he feels. I take no offense to what he said. The car has some really fine points to it but I have had 6 door panels fall off 3 intake gaskets Ignition cylinder go out power steering pump, water pump, radio, gas gauge sending unit, oil sending unit. It's not right I owned the car since new The car has 138,000 on it right now because I have always treated the car well.

I truly believe the 3300 was the best engine they put in the Grand Am. I have a 93 GT since new and this has been one of the best cars I have ever owned. It had a few problems in the beginning, but for a car 13 years old, original paint still looking new and still reliable, I can't part with it.

Looks Good swalt ! (even though its red :) )
The 3.3s were an awsome motor. I know someone who has a 93' SE w/3.3 it has 375K miles on it and its all original except a water pump and wheel bearings, thats all thats failed. Runs great, but is becoming an eye sore due to rust, guess thats what he gets for driving it

Glad to hear your story XtremXP -it mirrors the sad story we like to call our 2002 GrandAm. If I could sell the POS for what my wife owes I would dump ours too. Sad to say were stuck with it for a little while longer. But NEVER EVER again will we buy anything GM. Heres our list to date:
-4 hub / bearing assemblies
- intake manifold gaskets
- then head gasket/ manifold gasket
-2 coils
-and the key security switch twice now.(very expensive as only GM can code and supply new keys)
GM has forever lot my business. They quite simply are not building quality anymore - a main reason the imports are exceding domestic in sales and jobs are being lost.......
