A/C & Heater selecter switch not working

The heater blower motor recently died and was replaced, but now it seems the a/c & heater switch that changes it from defrost to floor to main vent is not working.


The fan switch 1-2-3-4 works and the cold/hot knob also works, but the selecter seems to be on VENT only no matter what is selected.




Anyone know what could be going on here?

Check for a vacuum leak as the actuator that changes the vents is vacuum operated. It is located under the dash and is mounted to the duct work. It is possible that it is bad and will need replaced. This is not an expensive part.

Look at the easy solution, is the chincy little plastic clip on the back of the nob busted? It should pull of real easy. Happened on my 95GA, cost my all of like $2.00 for a new one. It it is hard to pull off use a pliers there isn't a retainer clip to break.
