Ok, I was looking at getting a LS6 Manifold for my 99 t/a. My question is this: If I could find a salvage yard with one, would it work? If I can, what year vett has it and is it that simple or more?

I dont see why it would unless its cracked or broken. Vette im not sure..but i do know that 2001 and 2002 trans ams and camaros came stock with them. Thats why the HP is boosted up a bit.

Just make sure it is a 2001 or newer car.

Ok, I have one more question. When I was looking at the SLP LS6 Intake manifold that you can purchase online, I found two on byunspeed.com. Both say SLP LS6 High Performance Intake manifold. One is $100 cheaper though ($404.90 & $504.90).
The first one says:
The high performance LS6 Intake Manifold for the 1997-2000 LS1 C5 Corvette is now available from SLP. The new intake's increased plenum volume and massaged runner design gives an impressive 15 additional horsepower at the rear wheels. You will see improved 0-60 times and 1/4-mile acceleration. This is a direct bolt-on replacement for your original LS1 manifold. SLP's intake manifold package includes all necessary parts, hardware, and detailed instructions.
The second one says:
SLP has come up with a solution for the 1998-2000 Camaro/Firebird owner looking for more performance. The high performance LS6 Intake Manifold is now available from SLP featuring SLP's exclusive EGR modification, which enables the use of the vehicles stock EGR system. The new intake's increased plenum volume and massaged runner design results in an impressive gain of up to 15 hp at the rear wheels providing improved 0-60 and 1/4 mile acceleration. After installation, the new LS6 intake manifold looks nearly indistinguishable from the original LS1 intake manifold making it a direct bolt-on replacement. SLP's intake manifold package includes all necessary parts, hardware and detailed instructions.
It is confusing the bageebaz outta me... What is the difference? They are both under the the listing of:
Pontiac Firebird ->
1998-2002 LS1 ->
Intake Manifolds
My plan was to find a LS6 intake manifold from a salvage yard and slap it on my 99 T/A. Is it a direct bolt on replacement, or will I have to do something with my EGR system? The first manifold from SLP says nothing about an EGR system. But the second one does; And that is what is confusing me.
Sorry I wrote a book, but I'd much rather be safe than sorry. Any help is very very much appreciated!!!

Do you have to pass emissions?
If not...no need for EGR/AIR anymore. Hell...I have to pass emissions and I tossed mine. :lol:
When looking for parts make sure they are for your car. I am assuming the more expensive one probably comes with the coolant lines needed to install it on your car and the provision to keep EGR.
Not worth an extra $100 in my opinion. Unless you need to pass emissions.
Make sure you check around for prices. Maybe even the used section of LS1tech. I sold my LS6 intake for $325.

There are LS6 intakes out there with EGR. They are the more expensive one. SLP adds it and rapes you for an extra $100.

I dont have to pass, i live out in OK. If I just put it on there without the EGR, will it set off any codes? Or will it cause it to run different?
Mr. Luos

You will need the codes turned off.
